I'm usually not a fan of Chinese food but I ordered take out here and it was good. I love how they cook it when you order it. It took around 25 minutes so make sure you call ahead. I will definitely come back to this place. The orange chicken and fried rice is really good.

My favorite go to Chinese food place. Love the staff and the food... I've never had a bad delivery or experience with this place and I've been eating here for 13 years. Highly recommended for the quick fix Chinese craving.

This is my go to Chinese restaurant in San Pedro. I frequent this place on my lunch breaks. I love their bacon fried rice and egg foo young. The service is pretty fast, but if you are in a rush I recommend ordering ahead.

Top Wok RPV was my choice for some quick chinese grub last week, twas just ok and here's why: Pluses: Very nice and accomodating staff, redeemed my $15 for $20 worth of grub on Yelp and showed it to the girl behind the register, she wasn't sure if it was a go for a take out order but showed it to the manager who approved it and said no prob so that was very cool of them. Super friendly people working there and that always makes a difference in my book. Minuses: Grease overload! Ok so I ordered a small chicken fried rice, veggie lo mein & appetizer sampler. The fried rice was excellent, lo mein was solid too! Those I would repeat. The appetizer sampler came out hot and fresh out of the fryer BUT was sopping with oil from the fryer. Ewwwww! Literally started leaking all over my to go bag and into my other food, serious turn off. My suggestion, let fried items drip dry for one extra minute after preparation, I understand they want to provide quick service but not if it's going to ruin the order and soak the bag. Look, chinese grub is fattening, it's fried in oil, I get it and I like it! But they need to fix that issue like right now. Lastly, the tables and chairs were sticky and I cannot stand that. They had been wiped but with a rag that had obviously picked up something sugary or sticky along the way, change rags when wiping the eating and seating surfaces. Every place has issues, don't wanna detour anyone from eating here but just giving my peeps a heads up, some fresh rags & a better frying solution and this place will get an upgraded review from me. Will try again in a month or so.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here 4 or 5 times and always had good Americanized Chinese food. Its one of those hole in the wall type of places you don't mind eating at because the food is usually pretty good and the staff is nice. My boyfriend had suggested take out from here a few times and tonight I decided to try the take out. Food arrived in about 45 minutes (not too bad), was still fairly hot, but the hunan beef sauce had leaked all over everything. The pot stickers were burnt (something we'd had in the restaurant before and good there) and the BBQ pork in the BBQ pork fried rice was also burnt to a crisp! The pork in the rice was inedible (hard charcoal like). I did not try the hunan beef or the sweet and sour chicken (hoping those are not burnt and taste better than what I tried tonight). I intentionally ordered extra to have left overs to bring to work for lunch and for dinner another day or two. We usually order extra in the restaurant and pack it up to go and its always good when we eat it later. What I tried tonight was just OK (the non burnt parts of the pot stickers) to not good at all (the BBQ pork fried rice, burnt meat and bland mushy rice). I gave the place 3 stars as its usually very good Americanized Chinese in the restaurant. I would say maybe they had an off night or were trying to make sure all was still hot cooking some things too long to all be done at the same time for delivery, but reading the reviews this does not seem to be the case. I'd recommend this place for dine in but not take out. Its a little pricey but worth the price in restaurant.

This is the worst food I have had in my entire life and I have been around the world and munched and ate some bad stuff. I just left this place not 20 minutes ago. Service was fast and efficient but the food is gross upon gross! I ordered their walnut shrimp. It tastes like crap and there is no shrimp just fried batter shaped like shrimp. What's with the canned pineapple? I think a rubber band was inside. I know a shrimp tail was as I ate it! The white rice is tasteless and stale-not sticky and fragrant as it should be. The chicken chow main smells like hiker feet after sumiting Whitney on a hot day-really bad and there was beef in it. Now I like beef but theirs was all salt and the noodles tasted like the a fore mentioned sweaty feet. It is going in the trash. Worst tasting meal on the planet seriously even the fortune cookie was bad. I am so mad. Oh the broccoli is ok-but that's it. A total waste of bucks. Still hot on my plate but I won't eat it! It's inedible! Now I need to go out and buy a second dinner! :( PS the restaurant itself was dirty-boxes of stuff were in the dining room and there were dirty tables. The people making the food did not look clean. Some guy used a dirty rag to wipe the outside of the food boxes obviously putting bacteria on it. None of the chefs are Chinese either. Pfft!

How does this place only have THREE stars total!? I would say this is some of the best Chinese food in the South Bay. I mean, these reviews sound like a completely different place. Two weeks ago, I came in with my mom on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We ordered up the dragon tofu, string beans, sesame chicken and rice. All comes out family style and hot hot hot! It smelled so good, and I couldn't wait to dig in. We served ourselves and the waitress was nice and helpful - always making enough room on the table for our drinks and plates. Each dish was exactly how I imagined. The tofu had great spongy texture, and the mushrooms were very flavorful. The string beans and mushrooms were covered in a brown, yummy sauce that I couldn't have enough of. The sesame chicken had a crunchy breading, but tender chicken inside with a tangy sauce. I even had a check-in deal from Yelp - woohoo! Top Wok is my go-to for authentic Chinese!

Food was old and had no flavor. Delivery took a hour. I love Chinese food. But this place is not good. I don't recommend. Plus after spending $50 + it came with spring rolls. Well I didn't receive. I would give no starts. But the minimum is one. Fail !

  • Layla F.

The best Chinese food in town. Looove the chow mein. So good! They serve a good amount of good enough to fill 4 people for about 30$. Not bad. I've tried a few different items on the menu, all good. Fast service and friendly as well. The only down side is take out and delivery doesn't taste as good as it would if you were to eat at the place. Other then that I love this place.

In a word "ok" my usual place was closed so I decided to try something new. I got delivery, and it was fast and hot, and the delivery guy was very nice. I ordered chicken and shrimp spring rolls, egg flower soup, and a favorite of mine shrimp in lobster sauce. The spring rolls were great! I'd definitely order them again but the rest just didn't have much flavor. The portions are good and they don't cheat you on the shrimp so that's a plus. The sauce left much to be desired, very little taste so I had to add salt and pepper which I normally don't do, which made it better. The soup also needed a kick, but was alright after adding soy sauce. I guess I'm just used to not having to add seasoning. The spring rolls might be enough to have me give them another shot. Maybe order something spicy

Had some great lo mein and bok choy. Truly good, if only a little heavy on onions. Good iced tea. Great server/counter person. Will return!

Come to this place at least 1 time per week and love it the food is made to order love that the most since I'm a kind of pickie person chicken dumplings are the best . The server is a really nice girl who always makes you feel welcomed .if your in the mood for good Chinese food this is the spot =) ...

Ordered through grub hub. I got the orange chicken, bbq wings, and kung pao chicken. Both of my chicken entrees tasted chewy and cold. The fried rice was decent. The bbq wings were horrible. They lacked crispiness and I wasn't even sure if it was chicken. Anyway after being disturbed from the wings I could not eat the entrees. I wish I could get my 30 dollars back.

WASTE OF MONEY! I tried the beef teriyaki and sesame chicken and had it delivered to my house. Both were very bland and soggy. I didn't know beef teriyaki could be soggy but Top Wok proved me wrong! Maybe the food is better fresh in the restaurant, but I'm not holding my breath. I definitely will not be ordering from here again!

As an update to my review, both Eat 24 and the restaurant were quick to respond to the mistakes. The restaurant refunded the portion that was incorrect. However, the food was still terrible...

I tried this place for the first time tonight (Tuesday) for delivery with my boyfriend and we were very pleased. After reading reviews, we began to worry there would be some kind of mishap or shortcoming, maybe a forgotten plate or a dreadfully long wait time, however we decided to check it out for ourselves. We ordered at about 8:15pm: teriyaki chicken, broccoli beef, veggie rolls, and cream cheese wontons and were told it would be about 45 mins. The girl who took the order was very friendly and assured the food would arrive as soon as it was ready. We were once again pleased that the order arrived after 30 mins.. hey, 15 mins is a lifetime when you're starving! The food was pretty good. Is it the best in the South Bay, definitely not, but it is a great place to go if you need a quick fix for some Chinese in San Pedro!

    (4)
  • Anthony V.

Food was HORRIBLE!!! NEVER go here! Complete waste of money. When I arrived to pick up the food, one of the "chefs" was opening a plastic tub full of precooked lo-mein noodles and using his bare hands to place it in a to go box. The food is DAYS old, and disgusting. There were fingerprints all over the to-go box and even a short, black, hair in my food.

    (1)
  • Marty L.

Food is okaaaaayy. I ordered the shrimp fried rice. Not worth the price or the amount. At least it satisfied my hunger.

    (2)
  • Angelica R.

The food is really delicious. The fried rice and egg soup are really good, I recommend. the only thing is that their prices are kinda high, but other than that I definitely recommend

I was dealing with a chest cold so I did not want to leave the house. I decided to order some Chinese food as I was craving some Hot n Sour soup. I used Grubhub.com for my first time and realized i was limited on delivery choices for my location. So I used this one. I ended up spending $28.00 on a meal that after tasting almost all of it ended up in the garbage. The driver was nice but forgot my Coke and I was extremely thirsty, he said he would be back in a minute. I thought he would just go to the local 711 and buy one and return but he ended up going back to the restaurant so the return wait was about another half an hour. I wasn't sure he was gonna come back, but he did and also informed me that he realized he originally forgot to add the fried rice so apparently that was the reason for the delay. Unfortunately the Coke was the only thing I was able to tolerate. Everything tasted days old. The Hot n Sour soup tasted like leftovers from leftovers soup. I would love to get my money back or even be given a much fresher meal that does not taste days old. From the reviews that I just now read it looks like this place used to be really good but not anymore. I wish I would have known better!! The only other Chinese food place that is just as bad is Rice Queen in Harbor City but at least they are about 1/3rd the price.

    (1)
  • Andrew P.

Good food...good prices...good customer service...what's not to like. They are very accommodating since everything is made from scratch. Don't want it spicy...no problem, just request it not to be spicy. Want a great lunch menu? Check theirs out, you won't be disappointed. Want delivery? Yep...they do that to! As I write this, I ask what is this place lacking to get 5 stars? I think it's the quality of the food...it just doesn't hit as the "highest quality" but then again, I'm not paying for "highest quality". Like I said, you want good chinese food, at a good price and good customer service...you've found one of the best in San Pedro.

Top Wok is great! Shocked to see so many low ratings for them. I've ordered many times & they're always quick to deliver - within 30mins - and the food has always been fresh & hot. Favorite is the pork chow mein & the orange peel beef - awesome stuff. Tonight I ordered the pork ribs appetizer & the half duck entree - and wow. The duck was as good as I could imagine - super rich, crackling skin. Everything is always well packaged, never leaks, but not an excess of packaging like some restaurants that gets wasteful. Overall they've been a great restaurant to have in the neighborhood - the staff have always been very friendly and eager to please their customers, and the food has been excellent every time.

Top Wok is my favorite "go to" take-out and delivery place when I want great noodle soup - I ordered noodle soup with won ton last time and it was amazing! Full of shrimp, chicken and BBQ pork. Other favorites are broccoli chicken, sesame chicken and sweet and pungent shrimp. Fast service, really nice people, great food!

Service: The staff here is attentive. I have no complaints about their customer service. Very friendly! Presentation: The presentation of the restaurant however could use some sprucing. The interior could use some painting, and more lighting, as the restaurant itself, is kind of dimly lit. Food: The food here is very delicious. Its not just your average Chinese food like Panda Express or Pick Up Stick. They come in large portions, and is worth what you spend! If you look up their lunch special, I believe they're most under $10! I would have to say their popular dish is Orange Peel Chicken! It is absolutely my favorite and I order it every time I go there! So I definitely recommend eating that! DO NOT EVER ORDER TAKE OUT! They take forever to deliver. But what's worst is the food becomes soggy, and gross... DINE IN ONLY that way you won't be disappointed. TAKE ME WORD on this!

One of the only Chinese food restaurants my sister and I go to in the area. We love their chow mein noodles! But a little pricey

I recommend this place the food & service is good . I had a 20% coupon they didn't want to Honor because of technicality of only LA GAMES ONLY THAT DOESN'T APPLY ON THE COUPON . Other than that its GOOD Place

    (3)
  • Jasea M.

Pretty good but even with a $5 coupon a ill pricey for not too much food but it was good, although the girl seemed pretty bothered we were there. She was helpful but not inviting, not bad but I'll keep trying for good Chinese probably not plant it here

Last night I was in the mood for chinese and thought I order from Top Wok since I have ordered from their before and the food was good. However, last night experience was way different. I was not happy with all my orders. The orange chicken was dried and hard (couldn't find the chicken), the chicken chowmein was sticky and greasy, and the mongolian beef had no flavor what so ever. It looked like the cook dropped the food on the floor and placed it all in the container. I ate only what my stomach can tolerate and threw out the rest. This will probably be the last time I come here.

We order from Tok Wok every so often and have always been happy with the service. We generally order online and have always had our correct order, in a very speedy time frame and it's always been piping hot with plenty of extra condiments. Very friendly drivers as well. Today, we decided to eat in and watch the game on their large flat screen. We ordered hot tea, cream cheese wontons, spicy orange peel chicken, beef with broccoli, steamed rice, and two bowls of egg flower soup and our bill was 33.00. Huge portions of food! The orange peel chicken was deliciously spicy and had an amazing crunch to it. Not greasy, and tasted fresh. Very nice, easy to eat pieces of chicken. The sauce didn't make the breaded chicken soggy. Beef with broccoli had a nice hint of ginger and the meat was tender. I would say that the pieces of broccoli could be a bit smaller as to make it easier to eat, but other than that, it was wonderful. The egg flower soup is loaded with vegetables and not really what I would call and egg flower, but it was very tasty nonetheless. Service in the restaurant was wonderful. Our server was great, especially getting extra condiments without being asked for our leftovers. Definitely pleased with the amount of food and quality for the cost. Will continue to order in the future.

The staff here is always very nice and we've yet to be disappointed by their food. If you're fiending for a Chinese food fix (like I often am), get a coupon from restaurant.com and come here. If you spend at least $20 you can use a coupon for $10 off and get a great meal for cheap. yay to brown rice and nice chopsticks! fiance's in love with their newly added menu item: honey walnut shrimp, hold the broccoli and hold the pineapple.

    (4)
  • Kristen S.

Speedy delivery, ok prices but food was way less than appetizing. Rice was old, vegetable dish was saturated in ginger flavoring, egg flower soup was filled with bok choy and little to no egg or soup base. The best was the broccoli beef and that was nothing special. Maybe eating in is different, but I would not order from or recommend this place.

    (2)
  • Ryan B.

This spot used to be my favorite Chinese food place in San Pedro. I don't know if they changed their recipes or what but the quality went way down! Kung pao chicken was bland and was mostly veggies. Also the pork noodles soup had barley any meat mostly just fatty chunks of pork. I hope they turn things around or I'ma have to find a new spot.

    (2)
  • Jenny W.

We order from here often! Our favorite is the sweet and pungent chicken. Staff is super nice as well. Definitely one of our favorite places to order from when we don't feel like cooking!

  • Rachel J.

Tried this place randomly tonight because a lot of people I have spoken to said it was good. I was not impressed. I walked in to the building and it was very dirty. Plates left on tables from previous diners. Crumbs and food on the tables and chairs. Some sort of equipment on the floor shoved to the side. It immediately made me question eating there but the girl behind the counter was so sweet and welcoming that she pulled me in. It's amazing how good customer service can change your mind. We ordered the general chicken, orange chicken, chicken fried rice, chicken low mein, and 2 spring rolls. I will say it came out pretty fast and was piping hot so that was a plus but I was disappointed in the flavor of the chicken and how greasy everything was. Especially because we paid $34 dollars. We won't go back here but props to the wonderful worker that works there!

Seems to be going through an odd transitional phase. The food was better about a year ago. I hope the pull out of the tail spin. : /

  • Randy N.

This place is great. I have been here several times and the food and service are always excellent. Not sure why this place is rated as $$, it is really pretty cheap, especially for lunch, you can get plenty of food for a touch over $5. I have tried several entrees here and all have been good. One star lost because there was a whole bunch of clutter in the dining room today - looked like old office equipment covering one of the tables in the corner, and another pile of stuff by the walkway to the bathroom. Seeing a dining room that has clutter like that makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. That said restroom was clean and dining room is also clean, if a little cluttered.

  • Heidi G.

Okay. The gal that took the order was very nice The food WAS NOT! Yes, you get a lot but it was flavorless. Hard to explain. A lot of texture but not a lot of flavor. We ordered "orange" chicken (yea, right) and beef with broccoli and chicken moo shu. EVERY bite of the chicken I spit out because it was like eating a leftover scrap of meat vs. a nice piece of tender chicken. White rice was just that....White Rice. Really! for $30.00 plus dollars we should of gone somewhere that served edible food. So, you decide. We WILL NOT be going there again. When getting food out you pay for quality and flavor. Neither existed here at this Top Wok.

We ordered lunch for the office, Top Wok, where have you been all my life??!! The food was awesome, the price was very reasonable and they deliver! What can I say, other than we will always order from here. Thanks Top Wok

  • Brandon E.

Cant go wrong with the lunch special, comes with rice, lo mein, an entree and an eggroll all which are made fresh instead of sitting under a heat lamp all day. Paired my kung pao shrimp and chicken lunch special with a thai iced tea and I was one happy camper!

The day staff was too busy on their phones. Bathroom a mess and food was cold and unappetizing. Left disappointed.

At first I thought it was a little pricey, but then I tried the food! OMG it was totally awesome, plus the sizes are enormous, which was a plus. We try to go there a few time a month now! If you are looking for good, yummy, quality food then this is the place!!!

I like to support local businesses, so I came here once or twice when I first moved to RPV. Chinese food is usually at least "good" no matter where you go, so I was surprised how sub-par this place was. Wor wanton soup was pretty good. Curry was a bit off. Shin Shin is a little better, but lately, we've been ordering from Harbor Palace. It's a bit farther, and not perfect either, but they have a bigger menu and everything tastes better.

    (3)
  • Christina D.

This review is for delivery only. The food was delivered within 45 minutes which was great. However, the quality of the food didn't measure up. It was lacking some taste, and the texture of 2 different chicken entrées were off.

    (3)
  • Brian D.

The two star rating is solely for their food. Service was excellent. The server came by to check on us often. We went for dinner. I've had much better food with bigger portions for less money. The lunch prices are more appropriate. I can't rate on the atmosphere. There was a football game on with a big group watching it. Because the dining room is fairly small, the group got real loud, real fast. I'm sure at other times of the day when there aren't sports on the atmosphere is a little quieter. I've also been a little spoiled because my wife is Chinese so I've had authentic Chinese food.

Top Wok has great customer service. Pick Up Orders are handled promptly and accurately. We have also tried their lunch specials. The portions are filling and they offer a good variety.

Where to start. I came here randomly and now wish I had chosen another place to eat. I was craving orange chicken and thought this place would give me my fix. It did not. The food was not what I think of as authentic. The orange chicken was weird and the fried rice was similar to rice I could make, and I don't even cook. They didn't give me a lot of chow mien, it was more vegetables than chow mien. My friend got more chow mien than me and we got the same meals! There was barely any there. My friend got a fork that was dirty and we asked for another one. There were little black things floating around in the water I received and I dared not drink it. All that is just plain unsanitary. Overall, the service was ok but I will definitely not be coming here again.

    (2)
  • Eva J.

I don't know why people are giving this place one star, because it's actually pretty tasty. The beef in the broccoli barely resembles beef, but all fast food Chinese restaurants use this. I'm giving it four stars to offset all the bad ratings. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

    (4)
  • Chris C.

Yellow curry is spot on. Seafood soup meets my husband's high standards (He's a chef). Ingredients are fresh and the dishes never feel super-heavy or greasy. We always do take-out, and the gentlemen behind the counter is always friendly and accurate. Prices are low and you can always find a promotion/coupon is if you just search a little. Overall, best Chinese in SP!

  • Stephanie K.

We've never eaten in the restaurant but we order take out quite often. Our orders are always correct and arrive on time. Usually around dinner time it's about 30-40 minutes. I LOVE their vegetable spring rolls! I'm very picky about egg rolls and these are my all time favorite. My husband and I both love the orange peel beef. It's really flavorful and has a little kick to it. Portions are large, always seem fresh. We've also had the Mongolian beef which is good. I never get the MSG headaches from their food, which most Chinese restaurants do. My only complain is when ordering 2 entrees I wish they'd give you two things of rice instead of one. Makes left overs tricky for my husband and all. All in all, love this place!!

  • Cynthia G.

Confucius say: "Regret follows those who order from Top Wok." While the delivery was prompt, the food was barely passable. What we ordered: House special chow fun: gummy and it sure didn't taste Special BBQ pork: more like jerky than the smoky, slightly sweet porky goodness Orange chicken: was soggy, overly sweet, and lacking the citrusy zing

The food is delicious at Top Wok! Being a Chinese American, I am very particular about where we have Chinese food, but this place is great!! So very happy they opened the Top Wok in Redondo Beach as well. Love their Wor Won Ton Soup, Chicken Fried Rice, Beef Satay, Chinese Chicken Salad, and Double Pan-Fried Noodles. Awesome - thanks!

It's Saturday evening and I didn't feel like cooking. I've eaten at Top Wok in the past and have enjoyed everything that I've ordered - Mongolian Beef, Chicken Lo Mein, and my granddaughter had the Teriyaki chicken. This time around I noticed a new item - Honey Walnut Chicken. One of my favorites and Top Wok did not disappoint! Very delicious! ! Thanks again Top Wok for the great service, delicious food and friendly staff!

Called order in and everything was fine but I wish the food was a bit more flavorful

  • Jaime M.

Epically disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the half crispy duck. The duck looked like it was leftovers from last night. It was like beef jerky dry. The chow mein was so oily and had no flavor. My brother had bbq pork with broccoli, and the broccoli twas more tasty than the pork. The pork was also dry and the broth that it was in had no flavor at all. At least they know how to steam white rice.

Mostly (and frequently) I order for delivery from Top Wok and I find the food is consistently good. Favorite specialties for me here are the 1/2 Crispy Duck and Eggplant in Hot Garlic Sauce, Pork and green beans, green beans and mushroom in hot garlic sauce, Bhudda's Feast veggies and the chop suey is always fresh and crunchy and excellent.... I can go on. My only disappointments are the tofu dishes, but that's tough for me because I'm not into tofu. Also, I wish they'd offer brown rice as an alternative to fried or white. I have eaten in and the experiences have been fine. It's not an elegant place. When I was first introduced to the restaurant, I ate in with a friend and liked the casual decor. That was 6 or 7 years ago and recent lunches there indicate that there hasn't been new paint or fixtures since then, so I understand some of the complaints I've read on Yelp. But c'mon, it's a small place, mostly take out and delivery, and you could do a lot worse on the ambiance. Hey! gotta go... that's my delivery now!

I like top wok. Not the best but its pretty good. And their portions are massive!!!! Love that. Clean and quiet, nothing crazy. Good lil spot

  • Tonya E.

My husband and I ordered online and had it delivered. It got to us very quickly but they messed up our order. The sweet and sour pork was pretty nasty. The pork was a very low quality and really tough and the breading tasted like flour. The sweet and sour sauce itself was very runny and the flavor was onions. We had to pay 6 dollars extra to get pork fried rice and it was the only decent item we got, too bad it was cold along with the rest of the food. We WILL NOT order from these people again!!

This place is nasty. Would not go back even if they paid me. Smells good drop by, wrong mistake.

What in the world was that! That's what I'm thinking right now as 2 hours after ordering my kids are eating cereal and I'm fuming I just wasted $30. I ordered 2 hours ago but after an hour and half past by (30 minutes past what they said) I called to see if everyone there was ok or if they just decided I didn't really need to eat. The guy who answered the phone asked my address and in the same breath said it was on its way but I interject before being hung up on me to ask if it's typical for them to take an hour and half to deliver and I get an understanding (not) chuckle and "we're slammed tonight" but it'll be fresh. Well not a moment to soon I receive my delivery and sit down with my kids who are at that lovely prime we've been waiting forever point. So let's just get to the point... I ordered a Beef Chow Mein (bland with a funky faint ginger smell) which was mysteriously oily and extremely dry at the same time. Chicken Chow Mein (had a good strong yummy smell but tasted like straight oil). Chicken Fried Rice (this was the edible dish, not terrible but not good either). Lastly, 4 Spring Rolls which were thankfully delicious because that's what I ate and the rest will go with my husband to work. Those guys eat anything. Oh and all that aside.... when you are delivering food that easily feds 6 people, don't send two chopsticks and two packets soy sauces! families are close but not that close! My advice to this restaurant: try functioning like every customer might be a new one and first impressions are important! This was our first and last experience here.

Top Wok is OK. I've been to many many chinese places. And I cant say this one stands out. But the food is decent I had the BBQ Pork Fried Rice. It's not bad at all. But I've had better Chinese food. But I like it. I would try it out, can't say I would go here too often though.

Negative stars. I left my plate 75% full and walked out hungry and grumpy. I pretended to dry heave. Low quality. How can ya mess up chicken fried rice?

Love Top Wok! I've eaten in the restaurant but normally order delivery. The portions they serve are pretty big (whenever I order dinner) and I love their sweet and sour sauce. I am a huge sweet and sour sauce fan! The service has always been very good. It's odd there's been a couple bad reviews on this place. Maybe it was an odd day. Either way, everytime I have eaten here I have had a wonderful experience and I would choose it ANY day over Panda Express!!!

I was desperate for someone, anyone, to bring me food. So I thought I'd give this place a shot. An hour and $30 dollars later, I was pretty disappointed. I ordered hot and sour soup, lo mein with pork, and orange peel chicken, which is marked spicy on the menu. The soup was neither hot nor sour, it was more of a dishwater taste. But it did have lots of goodies floating in it. The lo mein was flavorless, but did have strips of pork or some other unidentified animal in it. And the orange peel chicken was more peel than orange. I won't be trying this place again :(

The food is fucking bomb. The service was good and the employs were easy on the eyes. If you're hungry and strapped for time or cash I definitely recommend stopping by.

This place got good reviews so I decided to try it after going over their website. Well I was really disappointed. The prices shown on the website are not the current prices shown on their website. I ordered the *Tofu with Black Beans Sauce and * Kung Pao Chicken. I was eager to try these two dishes as each of the to go containers were heavy and filled to the top. I was really not pleased when I opened each container; each one was loaded with onions and green peppers. The Kung Pao Chicken', I really had to dig through all the onions and green peppers to actually find some chicken. The Tofu with Black Beans was the same thing. Both dishes really tasted the same the only difference was the Tofu had black beans and the Kung Pau had chili peppers and two slices of carrots. For what I got and what I was charged, I will not return. My total order was $16. and change - "WHAT", that was ridiculous. They did supposedly give you rice with the entree, through I probably paid for it anyways. Sixteen dollars for two containers full of onions and green bell peppers, is hardly worth it. The only pleasant thing at this casual eatery was was the counter girl, who had a wonderful personality. Too bad I can't say the samething about the food - THUMBS DOWN !!!

3.5 stars. Very good all around. They deliver which is a plus but the food is MUCH better when you eat it there. Special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, and special lo mein are all very tasty. A little overpriced but a solid choice for chinese in san pedro.

I LOVEEE TOP WOK. Let me preface this by saying that I don't normally like Chinese food because I mostly find it too greasy. But Top Wok is completely different than anyother Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I found the decor to be trendy and modern and thought it was really cool that they played jazz music. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken (delicious!!!!) and the Beef Broccoli. Do yourself a favor and go go go!!!!

(in sarcastic tone) THANK YOU top wok for making every aspect of my meal tonight disgusting. i thouroughly enjoyed going out to eat with my husband and what we encountered when we got there. granted maybe i shouldn't have encouraged my hubby to order sushi at a chinese restaurant, but we WEREN'T expecting syrup-textured soy sauce, dirty bathwater tasting miso soup and wasabi that was so thick it did not mix with the soy sauce. we also "enjoyed" the rice that tasted like it has been around for 20 years and the msg tasting moo shoo pork which, by the way, the only reason i ordered was to play with them, make them myself and add as much hoisin as i see fit, and they come pre-rolled? no way! i've never been to a place where i started to panic when my husband was putting the sketchy looking sushi fish into his mouth. now it's just a waiting game to see how sick he gets tonight. BOO!

We eat here whenever we're in the area and always get the same thing. The kung pao chicken, shrimp in hot garlic sauce, orange chicken and pot stickers are the bomb! Prices are reasonable, portions good size and it's pretty consistent.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
